Better Evidence for Better Decisions – what might evidence look like? The Evidence Pie

The Evidence Pie is a simple way to understand and use different types of evidence for better decisions. Try this free tool to reflect on the evidence you already collect, and the insight you would like to have more of. Hertfordshire organisations are using this to talk openly with colleagues and with other organisations about what would help improve local services.

Children and young people / schools

Find resources on various aspects of children and young people’s health.

Hertfordshire’s Young People’s Health & Wellbeing Survey (YPHWS) gathers self-reported information annually from those aged 11-19 in Hertfordshire. The survey includes questions about home life, wellbeing, diet, physical activity, smoking, alcohol use, drug use, sexual health, mental health, bullying, and safety. You can search the results by topics and districts, and the results from surveys since 2021 are available.

Herts Insight - Population 
This is the quickest way to find data about the basic makeup of Hertfordshire’s population. It includes data from the latest national census, current population estimates and future population projections.The data is also presented in various profiles, including health and wellbeing, the economy, housing and local communities. Herts Insight is also run by Hertfordshire County Council.
