The Public Health Evidence and Intelligence team has access to datasets covering the health and wellbeing of Hertfordshire residents. The team also use a wide range of data sourced from other departments within Hertfordshire County Council as well as other agencies, such as the NHS and Public Health England.
Civil Registrations (Births & Deaths)
Births
Record level births data is held for Hertfordshire residents. This data contains information such as demographics, place of birth and limited details about the child.
Deaths
Record level deaths data is held for Hertfordshire residents and/or people registered with a GP based in NHS Central East sub-ICB locations that related to Hertfordshire (06N and 06K). This data contains information such as demographics, cause of death and place of death.
National Child Measurement Programme
The National Child Measurement Programme (NCMP) measures the height and weight of children in Reception class (aged 4 to 5) and year 6 (aged 10 to 11), to monitor trends in unhealthy weights within primary school age children. Record level data is held on pupils attending schools in Hertfordshire and includes demographics and measurements.
Hospital Episode Statistics
We can access data on inpatient and outpatient admissions, emergency attendances and maternities for all activity within England. Record level data is held and contains information such as demographics, causes of ill health and treatments administered. Small numbers must be suppressed in line with our data sharing agreement.
Young People’s Health & Wellbeing Survey (YPHWS)
The Young People’s Health & Wellbeing Survey (YPHWS) is a survey run every two years by the Public Health Evidence and Intelligence team, and the Public Health Children and Young People’s team. We also run an annual survey for young people attending SEND schools in Hertfordshire. Further details can be found here.
Sexual & Reproductive Health
Aggregate data on STI tests, diagnoses and services from all commissioned sexual health services in England is held. This data contains information such as demographics, types of infection and treatments administered.
Substance Misuse Treatment
Aggregate data on drug and alcohol services and treatment from all commissioned substance misuse services in Hertfordshire can be accessed. This data contains information such as demographics and treatments administered.
NHS Health Checks
Aggregate data on NHS Health Checks for patients registered to GP Practices in the NHS Central East sub-ICB locations that related to Hertfordshire (06N and 06K) is available. This data contains information such as demographics, details of the health check undertaken and some information on outcomes.
